back after a 2 year hiatus [27 Dec 2011|11:27pm]
Wow, i have not posted on here in nearly 2 years. Whats happened since i last posted? Not a whole lot. Highlights:

I now have an awesome circle of friends in Melbourne. Moving there is a strong possibility in the next 12-24 months.

I have stood on stage at Eurovision. I've met Hayao Miazaki. I've cosplayed on the other side of the planet. I've saved a life.

I've pretty much found i need a more ambitious bucket list.

Who still reads this anyway?

I do wonder if Livejournal will go the way of Geocities.  It would be a shame because i like to party like its 1999.

Some time ago, i combined work and music and sleep deprivation to the point where at the sands tavern, i napped on a table, then again not long after behind a drum riser while a band played.

I anticipate similar sleep deprivation / desperation napping over the coming couple of days.  If you see me napping at soundwave, make sure i'm in some kind of shade, thanks.

Self diagnosis is all the rage these days.

So, i've been checking out sites like beyond blue (yes movember awareness actually does work) and done as many tests as i can get my hands on.

So the general concensus in terms of diagnosis (and the winner is!) is Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.  Of course, it does mean i need to go see a doctor about it, but its been somewhat difficult.  I mean, i went to one back in brisbane in regards to it and he was so lousy it put me off quite badly.

So thats where i am at at the moment.   The whole suicidal thoughts things not likely to amount to anything, if only cause my family has been through enough of that already.

Someone suggested i do reveiws for things, only that they be terrible and useless. so i might start doing that because my lj needs a spark of life

Perth update [13 Sep 2008|09:38pm]
So its been a week now.

Perth is a nice enough place, friendly work.

But still, had a shocker last night. Felt homesick, listened to idlewild for a few hours and was in a really bad place, then talked to jodi, which started going far too well, so i fucked that up big time and got in over my head.

If there was even a small prospect of being less depressed in brisbane i'd be on the next flight back.

So Google maps street view starts tomorrow.  I don't think i'm on it.  In fact i think google is eliminating me from the universe, as my car no longer appears on google maps.  On the plus side i can see how rusty my house's roof is in the maximum resolution now.  (or in other words, the imagary for Brisbane is updated!)

$3600 tax return. Hell yes.

It's not like i haven't earnt it.  Assuming i ever get word from perth, it'll be a handy chunk of change to buy a new houseload of stuff with.  Yes i dislike packing that much that i plan to just leave everything behind.

So i am settling in to a routine of work, housework and internet.  Adding cooking to that list slowly.  Even more slowly adding playing music to the list.  My fingertips got all soft and girly, and i have thin strings on my guitar for some reason.  Suffice to say, no one needs to hear how bad i am at it.

Starting to come to more decisions about girls.  Not exactly the decisions i was expecting to come to.  I had expected to become some kind of manwhore/sleezebag type (yeah i know) but my heart's just not been in it.  Likewise for getting drunk to have an excuse to follow spontanious and not-so-spontanious urges.  Who would have thought i'd actually be happy to settle for a less melodramic monotomy broken up with the occasional outing.  It is so very strange (and kinda lonely) to have such a sudden lifesyle change.

Work's good.  Aside from not making enough money of course.  But i'm keeping busy and keeping my mind occupied which was number 1 on my to do list for the last week, and the following week will hopefully be the same.

Jodi and i are amicable.  Aside from that i really don't know much else about things in that regard.

and yes, i'm blogging with a vengance again.  Livejournal is not dead!

My Potato Bake brings all the boys to the yard

Which is worrisome since i don't really want boys in my yard.

Early shifts this week mean i'm cooking up a storm all week.  Its going to be 'Ready Steady Cook' style cause i have piles of food leftover from jodi/brendan/chilli/nacho being here.  Anyone who wants to help eat all this food lemme know, i'll make a care package

So i'm reading the news sites and forums i regularly go to, and reading about the qantas incident.  All the 'breaking developments' going onto the news sites are coming directly from a forum i frequent.  "aviation sources' indeed. good one news.com.au!

And on that note i'm fowarding bombshell threads to perez for a laugh

It's Jodi and I's 3rd anniversary!

We went to a carnival, the movies and then had Peking Duck for dinner. It's always fun to see the reaction of the asian butchers when we come in to buy duck.

On friday night we stayed at a bed and breakfast in binna burra and had dinner in byron.  Ate too many organic doughnuts and cheeses and assorted snacks.

Moving [23 Feb 2008|09:52pm]
We move into our new house in carindale tomorrow.

However due to lack of prior planning, we won't have the internet (and possibly power) for a little while.

We went to the house today to have a quick look around before the handover tomorrow...

What went unnoticed last time is...

WE HAVE A BAR!

Yes, we actually have a bar under our house. Which quite frankly, is 9 kinds of awesome. We also have a bathtub, and the place has phone/internet points in a million different places.

So tomorrow begins the ridiculous effort of moving in. We certainly are not looking foward to carting a fridge up the stairs. And several beds. And a couch or 2. And the rest...

Photos will come soon
